Hey there! Are you ready for a delicious, health-conscious, and super-easy homemade granola recipe? Look no further—it’s right here! Let’s get started!
This easy homemade granola recipe is a breeze to make. It uses 7 simple ingredients you probably already have in your pantry.
This recipe is just the right bit of salty with sweet mixed in with crunch from the variety of nuts used. The dried cranberries add texture along with the coconut flakes.
One of the unique aspects of this recipe is the freedom to adjust the sweetness to your liking, a feature you won’t find in store-bought granola.
Disclaimer here!!! Once you try this easy homemade granola recipe, you may never want to buy granola from the store again!
This homemade granola is not just a sweet treat; it’s a guilt-free indulgence packed with the “good stuff.”
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for some store-bought granola, which is high in sugar, contains unhealthy saturated fats and oils, and is packed with fillers that, in my opinion, are not necessary or anything that I would want to be filling my body with, so I say no thank you to that!
This recipe is packed with healthy ingredients, such as nuts, seeds, oats, honey, cranberries, and more.
Ingredients For Easy Homemade Granola
- 2–3 tablespoons real maple syrup or honey ( manuka honey is my personal choice from sprouts but any honey is fine too)
- 2 tablespoons virgin coconut oil
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large pinch of fine sea salt (about 1/8 teaspoon)
- 2 cups whole rolled oats (aka old-fashioned oats, preferably organic)
- 1/2 cup raw nuts, chopped (I like to use pecans and almonds; you can also throw in cashews)
- 1/4 cup raw pumpkin seeds
- 2 tablespoons raw sunflower seeds
- 1/2 cup unsweetened dried fruit, chopped (optional; I like unsweetened dried cranberries)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
What is wonderful about this recipe is that it does not use artificial sweeteners. The honey and dried cranberries add just the right amount of sweetness.
I like adding coconut flakes because they add texture and taste. The coconut adds a bit more crunch to the recipe. But it is totally up to you if you want to add the coconut or leave it out.
If you are going to opt to add the coconut, I would not do shredded or sweetened; instead, I add unsweetened shaved coconut.
Adding your favorite berries to your parfaits is a great way to add fiber and antioxidants. Fresh fruit is like icing on the cake.
Granola and yogurt parfaits are a simple, easy grab-and-go meal or snack for busy days. You can even make these ahead for a quick, healthy breakfast on the go or snack on the way out the door.
If your mornings are anything like mine, super hectic trying to get kids ready and out the door for school or just yourself out the door, here is what I do to help save time and get a good healthy breakfast in.
The night before, I used a small mason jar and added about half a cup of plain Greek yogurt. I then added some fresh or frozen bars and topped them with homemade granola.
Put the mason jar parfets in the fridge, and in the morning, you have a great grab-and-go, easy, healthy breakfast.
Kids also enjoy these grab-and-go parfaits, which is always a win.
Also, you can feel great about indulging in them or sharing them with the rest of the family, knowing that you are serving up a healthy and tasty treat.
If you are making parfaits with granola, The granola parfaits also make for an easy, healthy dessert.
