Hi friend, these air fryer salmon bites will knock your socks off! They’re made with a chili crunch marinade and honey, which gives these salmon bits just the right balance of sweet and spicy. Let me say that if you have yet to try salmon in an air fryer, this is a game changer.
If you don’t have an air fryer, don’t worry. I will also show you how to cook the salmon in the oven; they taste just as great!
Cooking these salmon bites in the air fryer saves on cooking time. Have no fear, though. Whether you cook these yummy salmon bites in the oven or air fryer, they are still easy and quick to make.
If you are making these in the oven you are going to want to preheat the over to 400 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and add the samlon that has been mixed with the marinade to the baking sheet spacing the cubes apart so they do not stick together when they cook.
Cook the salmon for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through. I will also add these instructions in the notes on the recipe card below.
With this recipe, a healthy, easy dinner will be on the table in under 30 minutes.
These salmon bites are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and flaky when you put your fork into them. Clean-up is easy, and cooking time is about 5 minutes in the air fryer, depending on how big or small you cut the salmon into.
I find that cutting the salmon into about 1-inch cubes works best for this recipe. The pieces are just the right bite-size portions, and the cooking time is quick.
When I first made this recipe, I played around with the cooking time and was surprised at how quickly they cooked. I’m not going to lie; the first time I decided to make these salmon bites, I overcooked them just a bit, but they were still out of this world.

What You Need to Make These Air Fryer Salmon Bites
- Chili Crunch –I like to get mine at sprouts but feel free to get it wherever you like.
- Salmon – I like to get my salmon fresh from the seafood department at whole foods. I perfer fresh salmon over farm raised. I also like to remove the skin for this particular recipe.
- Rice vinegar: rice vinegar helps brighten all of the flavors.
- Honey: honey balances out the spiciness from the chili crunch and offers a glaze-like marinade.
These salmon bites are not just yummy but healthy, too. Salmon is a very versatile fish to work with, and it has many health benefits as well.
Salmon is considered a fatty fish and one of those healthy fats to eat. The fat we are talking about is the omega-3 fatty acids found in foods such as salmon.
Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to help lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, specifically LDL or bad cholesterol. Omega-3 has also been linked to helping with inflammation, cardiovascular disease, and cutting triglyceride levels.
Salamon is also an excellent protein source, with about 19 grams of protein per 3 oz and 175 calories per 3 oz. With all that, what is not to love about Salamon, right?!
READY TO BE WOWED?! Here it is; below is how to take these salmon bites to the next level by turning them into salmon bowls and adding some extras.
Add-ons for making the perfect little salmon bowls will have you asking for seconds.
- White Rice—White rice adds a bit of light and fluffiness, and it balances the bowl out with some carbs. You can also use quinoa, brown rice, garbanzo beans, or cauliflower rice if you are going low-carb. I just chose white rice because I already had it on hand, and I prefer it when making these yummy bowls. The rice is like the anchor of the dish, helping to marry all the flavors and ingredients together.
- Spinach—I like to add spinach to the greens portion of this dish because it is rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals.
- Carrots—I added carrots to add crunch and color. Carrots contain beta-carotene and antioxidants, which are great for your health.
- Edamame—Edamame has a nice smooth texture and a bit of sweetness when bitten. It gives this dish a bit of an international flare.
- Scallions—A few scallions go a long way in this bowl. They give the dish a bit of crunch and zing.
With some trial and, yes error, I have worked on creating and perfecting an Asian dressing that goes perfectly with this dish.
It is simple to whip up and is the one thing that brings all the other ingredients together in this lovely, one-little bowl of yummy goodness and oh-so-nutritious.
The Asian dressing is also fantastic, along with seared ahi tuna. If you want to play around with things, you could sear some ahi tuna with a bit of salt and substitute it for the salmon.
Ingredients you will need for the Asian dressing are:
- Soy sauce
- Honey
- Rice vinegar
- Saracha
- Garlic
- Fresh ginger
Cooking Tip For Cook Your Salmon Bites:
While it all depends on how big your salmon chunks are, we recommend air frying 400ºF for 5-6 minutes to get perfectly cooked salmon. I suggest cutting the salmon into 1-inch cubes; however, depending on the size of your salmon, you may want to cook them a minute longer or less. When I say add a minute, I really mean a minute; the salmon will cook quickly.
As always, from my heart to yours, happy cooking! Remember, putting a healthy dinner on the table can be simple, quick, and, most of all, delicious.

PrintAir Fryer Salmon Bites
These air fryer salmon bites are that perfect combo of sweet with a bit of a kick to them. The honey adds just the right amount of sweet while the chili crunch balances it out with a bit of heat. These bites are juicy on the inside while nice and golden on the outside.
Ingredients
3 tablespoons chili crunch
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon sea salt
For the Salmon Bowls:
2 cups cookedwhite rice
2 cups sliced carrots (about 2–3 carrots) or you can use shredded carrots
1.5 lbs. raw salmon deboned and skin removed
For the Dressing:
1 tablespoon honey
1/4 teaspoon rice vinegar
2 tablespoons soy sauce (I like to use reduced sodium)
1 teaspoon saracha
1/8 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (sorry for this recipe I recommend only fresh ginger and not powdered)
Instructions
Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees
While the air fyer is heating mix together the chili crunch, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and salt in a large bowl.
Next cut the the salmon into 1-1.5 inch cubes and add to the mix and toss the salmon well so that salmon is coated with the mixture.
Optional:
I like to line the air fyer with parchment paper or easy clean up and so that the salmon doesn’t stick to the air fryer. No parchment paper no problem you can spry some avocado oil on the bottom of the air fryer and this will help so that salmon does’t stick to the bottom.
Add the salmon to the air fyer and cook for about 5 min till the salmon reaches 145 degress and is nice and golden.
If you are making salmon bite bowls you can start to asemble the bowls while the salmon is cooking.
Preparing the Dressing:
Add the honey, rice vinegar, soy sauce, saracha and ginger and mix well so that the honey and all the ingredients are nice and smooth.
To Assemble the Bowls:
Add 1/2 cup of cooked white rice, 1/4 cup of carrots, 1/4 edamame beans, 1/2 cup of spinach, top with sliced scallions to individual serving bowls. Add the cooked salmon along with a drizzle of dressing.
-
Add the chili crunch, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and salt to a large bowl and whisk the ingredients together.
-
Next, slice the salmon into 1-1.5 inch cubes and transfer them to the bowl. Toss the salmon with the sauce until coated.
Notes
I used white rice in this recipe just because it was what I had on hand already cooked. You can substitute quino, brown rice, sweet potato, wheat berries even garbonzo beans for the white rice.
